The Rings Project

The Rings Project explores imagined celestial rings through mixed media art. I use texture, layered materials, and changing light to give each composition its own sense of movement.

Resin, mica, sand, paint, and grout contribute different qualities across the collection. Raised surfaces catch the light, while luminous details reveal another arrangement of shapes after dark.

Following the rings

A ring gives your eye a path to follow. In these works, that path becomes an invitation to look around, return to a detail, and discover how one form relates to another. The compositions suggest cosmic motion while leaving room for your own interpretation.

Rings on wood

These three works continue the project on wood. Their smaller formats offer another way to explore the relationship between surface, shape, and light.

One composition, changing light

The light photographs show the color and surface of each work. Blacklight photographs show its response to ultraviolet illumination, while the glow photographs capture its luminous details in darkness. Comparing the views makes it easier to notice where your attention shifts.

Some pieces have a single photograph here. They remain part of the collection, with their available view presented alongside the other works.

Stay curious

The Rings Project is part of my wider exploration of cosmic imagery and tactile art. Spend a little time with the shapes, compare the photographs, and see which world draws you back.
